I’m getting very excited about an upcoming project that myself and two of my best girlfriends are taking on: a food blog! We’re still in the early planning stages–the dry ingredients are only just getting mixed, the bun isn’t even in the oven yet–but I’m thinking a lot about design ideas and how to make our blog beautiful and functional at the same time.
During this pondering, I was perusing a book of William Morris wallpaper prints that my grandfather gave me the last time we visited Montreal. No, William Morris is no relation of mine (though my great grandfather was also a William Morris), but I do like the coincidence. Looking at these wallpapers made me remember my dabbling years ago in making patterned web backgrounds–I became quite proficient at getting graphics to tile nicely. Tonight I applied some of that knowledge to scanning and tweaking the wallpaper for use on the web.
Here’s just one of the few that I tweaked. Not entirely seamless, but close enough! You can use it for a desktop background too; just change your settings to “tile”.
